Our itinerary is below!
Himeji castle
We visited Himeji castle, the beautiful white castle in Himeji city!
History
Himeji Castle was built in 1346 as a samurai castle. The current building is the third generation and was completed in 1609.
At that time, the castle was still under the Warring States Period, which lasted from 1467 to 1615, and various defensive measures were taken.
UNESCO World Heritage Site
In 1993, it was registered as a UNESCO World Heritage Site along with Horyu-ji Temple in Nara.
White Heron Castle
The castle is also called Shirasagijo (White Heron Castle) because the white castle tower and corridors on both sides resemble a white heron spreading its wings.
The white heron is also a bird very familiar to the Himeji area.
Original shape of 1609
The castle is still in its original state as it was when it was built in 1609, and the image of a samurai from the olden days comes to mind.
Kokoen Japanese garden
Kokoen is an authentic Japanese garden with a borrowed view of the World Heritage Site, Himeji Castle.
It is a popular place for sightseeing in Himeji.
Size
The garden, which stretches to the southwest of Himeji Castle, covers an area of approximately 3.5 hectares.
History
The garden was created using the remains of the Nishi-oyashiki (built in 1618) and samurai residences.
It consists of 9 Japanese gardens, each of which is characterized by being separated from the rest of the garden by a walled enclosure.
Gardens
There is “Onyashiki no Niwa” (garden of the imperial villa), a garden with a circular garden and pond.
Also “Cha no Niwa” (garden of tea ceremony), a teahouse with an authentic sukiya-style teahouse, which has been used as a location for historical dramas and historical episodes.
Number 1 autumn leaves site in Japan
This garden is registered number 1 autumn colorful leaves site by Japanese travel site.
Tea ceremony
We enjoyed casual tea ceremony at the Japanese tea room.
The garden outside is very quiet and peaceful!
If you visit Himeji castle, don’t miss this garden!!
Bullet train ( Shinkansen)300 km full speed passing
At Himeji castle we watched bullet train passing by 300 km full speed!
This place is popular we can see it very close!
Dotonbori street
The busiest shopping street in Japan.
Signs for foodstuffs such as crab, puffer fish, and beef line the streets.
Hozenji Temple
One street inside from Dotonbori, you will enter the quiet Hozenji Yokocho( alley).
The water-hanging Fudo Buddha statue here is always covered with moss as worshippers pour water on it.
How was it?
Why don’t you try next time?
