Nomiya Shrine
This shrine is mentioned in the Tale of Genji written in 1008, which is called the world’s oldest novel.
Nowadays, it is constantly filled with people praying for the fulfillment of their love and for the birth of a child.
Bamboo forest
The path through the bamboo grove is a short walk from Nomiya Shrine.
It is a very surrealistic atmosphere as you enter the tall bamboo grove.
Ohkochi Villa
Villa built by early 20 century’s Japanese movie star Denjiro Okochi.
The garden is a circular garden with views of Mt. Hiei and the nearby Arashiyama and Hozukyo valleys.
Lunch
We ate delicious Japanese beef for lunch.
Yummy!
Arashiyama Kimono Forest
At Arashiyama Station of Arashiyama Electric Railway, there are many objects with kimono patterns called “Kimono Forest.
It is very fun to see the various patterns.
Kabukiza theatre
We took photos in front of Kabukiza theatre, where is the traditional drama performance place!
Fushimi Inari Shrine
The shrine is said to have been founded in 711, and is the main shrine of the 32,000 Inari shrines enshrined throughout the country.
The shrine is famous for its countless beautiful torii gates.
It is said that there are about 10,000 torii gates in the entire Fushimi Inari shrine!
