Nomiya Shrine, Shrine of Love Stories

This shrine is mentioned in the Tale of Genji written in 1008, which is called the world’s oldest novel.
Nowadays, it is constantly filled with people praying for the fulfillment of their love and for the birth of a child.
Bamboo forest


The path through the bamboo grove is a short walk from Nomiya Shrine.
It is a very surrealistic atmosphere as you enter the tall bamboo grove.
Tenryuji Temple


Tenryuji Temple was founded in 1343 as a temple of the Rinzai sect of Zen Buddhism.
It is registered as a World Heritage site.
The Japanese garden with a pond is beautiful.
Kimono Forest



At Randen Arashiyama Station, there is an objet d’art called “Kimono Forest” made of kimono fabric.
It is a good place to take pictures.
Lunch


We took lunch at theWagyu beef restaurant with the view of small Japanese garden.

Fushimi Inari Shrine


The shrine is said to have been founded in 711, and is the main shrine of the 32,000 Inari shrines enshrined throughout the country.
The shrine is famous for its countless beautiful torii gates.
It is said that there are about 10,000 torii gates in the entire Fushimi Inari Taisha.
Yasaka Pagoda

Yasaka-no-to is a five-story pagoda in Gion founded AD589.
It matches the traditional townscape very well.
Kyoto Starbucks


There is a traditional Japanese style Starbucks on the approach of Kiyomizu temple.
It is a traditional Japanese house turned into a Starbucks.
The atmosphere is very exotic and fun.
Yasaka shrine

Yasaka Shrine, the shrine of geisha
We moved on to Gion, we went to Yasaka Shrine, which was built in 656.
It’s enshrined mythological hero of Japan.
The Kyoto’s biggest festival Gion festival is the festival of this shrine!
It is always very lively with many food stalls.
There are many cute lanterns dedicated by geisha with their names on them.
Hanamikoji Gion

Hanamikoji is a traditional street in Gion.
You might see Geisha girls 17:00-18:00 before going to the dinner party!
