We rented a bicycle at Nara Station, about one hour from Kyoto.
Nakatani-Do
Nakatani-Do is a popular rice cake shop.
The performance of pounding rice cakes in the store is fun.
Kofukuji Temple
Kofukuji Temple is a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
Kofuku-ji Temple was founded in 669 as a temple of the Hosso sect of Buddhism.
The five-story pagoda is the second tallest pagoda in Japan at 50.1 meters, after Toji Temple in Kyoto.
Nara Park
Nara Park is a vast park measuring 4 km east to west and 2 km north to south, with many national treasures, world heritage sites, and museums.
The approximately 1,200 deer that live in the park have long been cherished as messengers of the gods and are the symbol of Nara.
Todaiji Temple
Todaiji Temple was founded in 733 as a temple of the Kegon sect of Buddhism.
It is a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
With a height of 46.8 meters, it is the largest wooden structure in the world.
The Daibutsu (Great Buddha) inside is the world’s largest cast bronze statue at 15 meters.
Nigatsudo
Nigatsudo is located on a hill, from which you can see the whole view of Todaiji Temple and the city of Nara.
Kasuga Taisha Shrine
Founded in 768, it is a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
The deer in Nara Park come from the fact that the god of its founding came from Kashima Shrine riding on a deer.

There are several museums and tea rooms overlooking the garden, where tea can be enjoyed.
