‘TSUKIJI HONGANJI temple’
This is not ‘ Taj Mahal’ of India.
It’s TSUKIJI HONGANJI temple , the popular temple for locals next to TSUKIJI fish market just cross the crossing 2 minutes.
This is the temple of HONGANJI school in Buddhism which was founded 1617.
Today’s building was built in 1934 , designed by CHUTA ITO, the famous Japanese architect. ( he also designed MEIJI shrine ) .
The outer building is Indian style which is very unique in Japan, but inside is traditional Buddhism style, these are nice combination.
( Buddha himself is originally from India of course) .
I recommend you to visit here before or after TSUKIJI fish market.
You can sit inside the hall and watch the services. I think you will feel the different atmosphere from your own religion, at the same time you will feel the same feeling as your religion that both are looking for the peace of the world and around us .
I like hearing the mass chants while visiting in the church of western countries.
If you want to feel the Buddhism atmosphere and offer prayer, check out here! I think you will understand that we are looking for the same goal!!
I’m Nobu, one heart enjoy together!!!
