Yamashita Park, Roses and Mini-Titanic
I went to Yamashita Park in Yokohama, Japan.
It is the most famous coastal park in Yokohama.
History
This area was originally established as a wharf in 1823.
Then it was planned as a beach promenade after the Great Kanto Earthquake of 1923.
Using a large amount of rubble that was generated.
Citizen’s park
The park was opened as a citizen’s park in 1930.
The popular rose garden was renewed in 2016.
It’s blooming beautifully in May and smells aromatic now.
Hikawamaru passenger ship
Also there is a display just in front of the park , Hikawa Maru, a passenger ship that was commissioned in 1930.
It is 60% the size of the famous Titanic and is close in age, so visitors can enjoy the atmosphere of that time.
In the park there are 1,900 roses, and the best time to see them is in May.
The nearest station is Motomachi-Chukagai Station on the Minato Mirai Line.
The station number is MM06.
It is a 5-minute walk from there.
Why don’t you enjoy nature and history at the same time?
I’m Nobu, one heart enjoy together!!!
