Clean and fresh atmosphere of God’s Island Kudakajima in Okinawa

Kudakajima island
I would like to share with you the atmosphere of Kukojima, the island of God’s a remote island in Okinawa.
This is the island where Amamikiyo, the founder of Okinawa, descended from.
Even now, Okinawans say that they do not go there lightly.
Strangely enough, some people who want to go to this island can’t come at all.
They say that something happens that prevents them from coming.
This is my third visit, so I guess that means God has allowed me to come.
Atmosphere of the village
There are about 200 people living in the village, but they don’t have their own land.
But they are allowed to share and live on God’s land.
The village is very quiet and sometimes you can see cats lazing around.
Fubo utaki
This is the most sacred place, but the highest sanctuary, the Fubo Utaki, is only a small space in the bushes.
It is so small that a person can barely stand in it.
It’s so simple that it’s almost bewildering.
There are no grand buildings, no towers, no sculptures, no stained glass.
There are no bible , no Koran, no mantra, no chanting here.
But there is a transparent sensation.
It’s just something magical and sacred about its simplicity.
Udonmya ( sacred area)
This is a place where a secret festival called Isaiho is held, in which only women can participate every 12 years. ( it’s stopped from 1978 because there are not enough participants)
Men are not allowed to come inside.
Habyan ( kaberu cape)
Habyan, where the gods first landed.
The local people are still doing prayers here.
Ishiki beach
And Ishiki Beach, where the pot containing the five grains washed ashore and where agriculture began.
These places are not allowed to swim and play water sports.
However, just looking at the pure scenery, you will be struck by an indescribable emotion.
