Kyoto station
This is our start Kyoto station.
It’s the most modern train station in Japan!
Rental bicycle
We rented bicycles at Nara station.
Nara area is very big are to see around.
E-bicycle is a good way to travel around in Nara!
Nara Park
Nara Park is a vast park measuring 4 km east to west and 2 km north to south, with many national treasures, world heritage sites, and museums.
The approximately 1,400 deer that live in the park have long been cherished as messengers of the gods and are the symbol of Nara.
Todaiji Temple
Todaiji Temple was founded in 728 as a temple of the Kegon sect of Buddhism.
It is a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
With a height of 46.8 meters, it is the largest wooden structure in the world.
The Daibutsu (Great Buddha) inside is the world’s largest cast bronze statue at 15 meters.
Lunch
We ate lunch at the local restaurant.
Yummy!
There are deers roaming around the restaurant.
Kasuga Taisha Shrine
Founded in 768, it is a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
The deer in Nara Park come from the fact that the god of its founding came from Kashima Shrine riding on a deer.
Ukimido pagoda
This is a hexagon building which is floating on the Sagiike pond of Nara Park.
The reflection of the pond is very beautiful!!
Isuien Garden
A Japanese garden created in 1673.
There are several museums and tea rooms overlooking the garden, where tea can be enjoyed.
Also there is a small museum where we can see Asian arts.
