Churaumi aquarium in Okinawa
The Okinawa Churaumi Aquarium was established in 1979 as the predecessor of the National Okinawa Memorial Park Aquarium.
Churaumi literally means ’beautiful ocean’ in Okinawa diarect.
It’s succeeding the Marine Life Park that was a pavilion at the 1975 Okinawa Ocean Expo after the expo.
The largest aquarium, the Kuroshio Sea, is a spectacular sight, with 8.8 meter whale sharks and giant manta rays swimming in a leisurely manner.
Okinawa is the only island in Japan with a subtropical climate.
With it’s four warm seasons, and the creatures that live there have adapted to the climate of Okinawa.
These are nurturing a rich ecosystem that is unique to the island.
At the Okinawa Churaumi Aquarium, visitors can experience the wonder and importance of the Okinawan sea through exhibits that take them on a journey from the coast to the offshore, from the Kuroshio Current to the deep sea.
Why don’t you come and see the whale sharks here?
You will surprise their gigantic shapes!
I’m Nobu, one heart enjoy together!!!
