What is Shinjuku Gyoen park?

Shinjuku Gyoen National Garden is a vast and beautiful garden located in Shinjuku,Tokyo.
Originating from a feudal lord’s residence during the Edo period from 1590.
Its major appeal lies in three garden styles—Japanese garden, English landscape, and French garden —all within one location.
Surrounded by the city’s skyscrapers, the park itself offers a remarkably quiet and serene atmosphere.
Visitors can enjoy flowers and trees throughout the seasons.
And it is particularly popular worldwide as a prime spot for 1300 cherry blossoms.
In fact, a major feature of Shinjuku Gyoen is that cherry blossoms can be enjoyed not only in spring but also from late winter.
Description of Satsuma Kanzakura( early blooming cherry blossom)

Satsuma Kanzakura is an early-blooming cherry blossom that begins flowering in early February.
While Japanese cherry blossoms are typically associated with late March to April, this Satsuma Kanzakura allows visitors to see cherry blossoms even in wintertime Tokyo.
Its flowers are a slightly deep pink, with large beautiful petals.
For travelers who arrive in Japan just before the peak cherry blossom season, the Satsuma Kanzakura offers a special surprise.
About Plum Blossoms

After the Satsuma Kanzakura cherry blossoms reach their peak, visitors to Shinjuku Gyoen can also enjoy plum blossoms.
Plum blossoms bloom slightly earlier than cherry blossoms, reaching their peak around late January to mid-February.
Plum blossoms come in a rich variety of colors, including white, pale pink, and deep crimson, offering an elegant and serene beauty distinct from cherry blossoms.
Another characteristic is their faintly sweet fragrance.
It’s a delight to enjoy their scent while strolling.
Being able to enjoy both cherry blossoms and plum blossoms at the same time is a special experience unique to Shinjuku Gyoen park.
