Enkyoji temple in Himeji city
I went to Shoshazan Engyoji Temple in Himeji City.
It is a temple of the Tendai sect, founded in 966.
It is the 27th temple of the 33 pilgrimage in the western part of Japan.
It takes about 30 minutes from Himeji Station by car or bus.
From the foot of the temple, take the ropeway up to the Enkyoji Temple.
From there it is a 15-20 minute walk or a 5 minute shuttle bus ride to the center.
Maniden (Hall of the Goddess of Mercy)
Maniden is the main temple complex, built on a cliff like Kiyomizu-dera in Kyoto.
From the veranda, you can see the mountain view of Mt.Shosha.
Daikodo(Main Lecture Hall)
A 5 minute walk from Maniden leads to the Daikodo(main lecture hall) , Jikido( dining hall), and the Jogyodo.
Movie, Last Samurai
Tom Cruise’s The Last Samurai was filmed in these buildings.
Currently, Team Lab’s light artwork is on display in the dining hall until January 21, 2024.
The museum blends over 1,000 years of tradition with the modern world.
Why don’t you enjoy the fusion of tradition and modern?
I’m Nobu, one heart enjoy together!!!
