‘SMALL TRADITIONAL AREA’
I came across the SAWARA traditional area in Chiba prefecture next to Tokyo.
There are traditional over 100 years old houses along the small river and registered as one of ‘Japan heritage’ which is approved by Agency of cultural affairs of Japan.
The atmosphere is very calm and quiet, the scenery is like we’re back in time of middle age .
There is a boat cruising of small river watching the view of old houses.
Also they offer local foods like ‘ Soy sauce ice cream’ ‘ sweet potato sweet confectioneries ‘ .
It takes 2 hours drive 3 hours train from Tokyo.
