It’s still hot in September in Tokyo.


The average temperature around 25 ℃.( 77 ℉)


The first half of the month is often hot and humid, while it gradually cools down in the latter half.

It’s also typhoon season, so it’s important to be prepared for sudden rain.

For visiting Tokyo in September, here are some clothing recommendations.

Lightweight Layers

Since the temperature can vary throughout the day, wearing lightweight, breathable layers is ideal.

You can easily adjust to the warmth during the day and cooler evenings.

Folding umbrella

    As it’s typhoon season, it’s better to carry a compact folding umbrella or a light raincoat for sudden rain showers.

    Comfortable Clothing

    Opt for comfortable clothing made of moisture-wicking fabrics to stay cool during humid days.

    T-shirts, blouses, and light pants or skirts work well.

    Light Jacket or Cardigan

      Evenings can be cooler, especially later in the month, so packing a light jacket or cardigan is recommended.

      Sun Protection

      Don’t forget a hat, sunglasses, and sunscreen to protect against the sun during the hot days.

        There are many events and family gatherings to honor the elderly.

        People enjoy moon-viewing while eating Tsukimi dango (moon-viewing rice dumplings).


        Many temples and spots take place moon viewing festival this day.

        Autumn festivals, mostly the harvest festival are also held in various places all over Japan.

        Don’t miss them because you feel the real traditional Japan there.

        Autumn flavors start to appear, and you can enjoy seasonal ingredients.

        New rice crop, vegetables , fish, chestnuts, and matsutake mushrooms.

        Tsukimi dango and sweets made with sweet potatoes are popular, especially in relation to moon-viewing.

        Precautions


        Since it is typhoon season, check the weather forecast regularly and carry an umbrella or waterproof jacket.

        As first half month still be hot, staying hydrated and protecting yourself from the sun.

        Mornings and evenings is getting cooler, so bringing a light jacket or cardigan to stay comfortable.
