Whale shark
The largest aquarium, the Kuroshio Sea, is a spectacular sight, with 8.8 meter whale sharks and giant manta rays swimming in a leisurely manner.
Okinawa is the only island in Japan with a subtropical climate.
With it’s four warm seasons, and the creatures that live there have adapted to the climate of Okinawa.
These are nurturing a rich ecosystem that is unique to the island.
At the Okinawa Churaumi Aquarium, visitors can experience the wonder and importance of the Okinawan sea through exhibits that take them on a journey from the coast to the offshore, from the Kuroshio Current to the deep sea.
