‘SAKURA EXPLOSION at HEIAN JINGU shrine’
HEIAN JINGU shrine is built 1895 as the 1100 years anniversary of transferred the capital of Japan from NARA city to Kyoto AD 794.
The building is 5/8 of the size of the imperial court of that age .
The TORII gate is the symbol of this shrine , 24.4 m 9th tallest TORII gate in Japan.
It’s very popular for its beautiful cherry blossom.
It’s a nice contrast with red TORII gate , building and pink cherry blossoms.
You can enjoy the sightseeing boat on the canal . It operates from 26th March to 5th May, costs 1200yen( 12 dollars).
There are 300 cherry trees in SHINEN( inner garden) , especially weeping cherry blossoms are really beautiful!!
It’s decorated by illumination in the evening too.
