‘Water mill ‘
Do you like a water mill ? I like it very much. There were 1190 water mills in Tokyo area 100 years ago to use them as a power to thresh and grind the crops by farmers.
But it’s reduced rapidly by replacing other powers .
Today still there are several mater mills and make the very slow and relaxed atmosphere of old age .
Below is my water mills recommendations in Tokyo area .
1: FUCHU local forest museum. This video.
2:NABESHIMA-SHOTOU KOEN. It’s 9 minutes walk from SHIBUYA station!
3: JINDAIJI SUISHAKAN. It’s a small museum of water mill.
The SOBA noodle restaurants also have water mills too in JINDAIJI area .
4:NIHON MINKAEN in Kawasaki city next to Tokyo. It’s a huge Japanese traditional buildings park .
5: MITAKA OSAWA water mill. It’s one of the biggest water mills still working.
If you want to escape from hustle and bustle of big city, and want to go back in time check out them !!
I’m Nobu, one heart, enjoy together!!!
