Why don’t you talk with the hermit of Okinawa?
I’m Nobu, I like traveling overseas and in Japan, visited 25 countries. I’ve got the license of the certificate English guide in Japan for 8 years.
I show you hidden Japan which you have never seen and heard of!
Minshuku (family inn)
I stayed at minshuku( family inn) on the northern edge of Okinawa.
A minshuku is a form one of the Japanese hotels.
It’s basically a small family-run accommodation.
Many of them are run by farmers and fishermen who provide their own harvests.
So the foods are fresh and appealing.
Most of them are family-run, so you can talk to the family members.
Most of them do not speak English, but that is the spice that makes the trip adventurous.
Minshuku Miyaki ( 海山木)
The minshuku I stayed at was called Miyaki, which means “sea, mountain, tree” in Japanese.
It is located in the bushes near the northern coast of Okinawa.
It is run by a couple, and the husband is like a hermit.
He is white beard and tie headband on his head.
We ate dinner by the hearth, and when I was talking with the husband, suddenly he guessed the company I work for correctly.
I was very surprised!
It was just strange.
I had made a last minute reservation over the phone, so there was no way he could have found out about me.
The meal consisted of vegetables he grew, chicken and fish from the nearby sea.
I had a simple Japanese-style tatami room and a rock bath with a Japanese style bathtub which he made by himself.
The price is 6500yen( 65 dollars) including dinner and breakfast.
If you want to meet a hermit in Okinawa, I recommend you stay at this guest house.
I’m Nobu, one heart enjoy together!!!
