‘BE NAKED ‘
If you come to Japan you will have a chance to take traditional Japanese Onsen ( natural hot spa) or bath .
You should be naked in the Onsen and bath, the swimsuit is not allowed. Because clean hot water gets dirty by your swimsuit’s dirt, pees and poos . Don’t put towels in the bathtub either .We love cleanliness.
Sometimes it’s difficult for you to follow this rule . But basically nobody stares at you and your parts intentionally. They pretend nobody is there .
If you overcome this cultural barrier and soak in the hot Onsen and bath by naked , another border will appear for you ! It’s completely relaxing and comfortable!
I visited ‘TAKAISO NO YU ( literally means seashore bath ) ‘ ROTENBURO ( open air bath ) in ATAGAWA ONSEN resort in east IZU peninsula.
It’s located on the next to the seashore and can see the 180 degrees full Pacific Ocean , very dynamic!!The entrance fee is 600 yen ( 6 dollars) open 9:30-17:00 on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. In summer period they open the seashore pool too. You can wear swimsuit in the pool.
