I came across the beautiful Ikebana at the entrance of Hotel New Otani Tokyo.
It was the Sogetsu School style.
Sogetsu school
The Sogetsu School is one of the main schools of ikebana.
It began with an aversion to formalism and a desire for free expression that respects individuality.
And Sogetsu ikebana is not bound by “kata,” but is always new and free to reflect the personality of the individual.
Furthermore Sogetsu ikebana can be used anytime, anywhere, by anyone, and with any material.
Sogetsu Ikebana allows the ikebana artist to freely express his or her thoughts and feelings.
And it’s allowed to create flowers in his or her own way.

Expression
As you see here, the ikebana at the entrance of the Hotel New Otani Tokyo uses not only flowers.
