Kamakura old samurai city
I went to Kamakura.
Kamakura is a small ancient city about an hour away from Tokyo.
Kamakura is located in Kanagawa Prefecture, next to Tokyo.
It’s the city first Samurai government placed on 12th century by Minamoto Yoritomo.
It flourished as a political center during the Kamakura period in the Middle Ages.
Today, it is a famous resort area dotted with numerous Buddha temples and shrines.
There are 119 temples and 41 shrines totally.
Among them, the most famous historical structure is the Daibutsu (Great Buddha) of Kotokuin Temple.
This bronze statue stands 13 meters tall and withstood the great tsunami of the 15th century which swiped away the building.
Kamakura city faces the Pacific Ocean, the beach is Yuigahama.
Beach and windsurfing
Yuhigahama beach, a 10-minute walk from Kamakura station, is a popular surfing spot.
On this day, there were many windsurfers at Yuhigahama beach.
This beach is like a cove, and there seems to be a good wind for windsurfing.
If you enjoy visiting temples and shrines in Kamakura, how about watching people enjoying windsurfing at Yuigahama Beach?
You will enjoy the traditional Japan and sports Japan both !
I’m Nobu, one heart enjoy together!!!
