Tour with wheelchair

We did a Tokyo 1 day tour with family who has a wheelchair child .

Our stations and itineraries were below.

1: Shinjuku-Harajuku ( Meiji shrine,
Takeshita street)
2: Meiji-Jingumae- Asakusa ( Sensoji temple, Nakamise shopping street)
3: Asakusa- Onarimon( Zojoji temple,
Tokyo Tower)
4: Akabanebashi- Shinjuku

•All Tokyo stations have elevators.
No problem.
But most of the time elevators are at the
edge of the platform.

•Access from the ticket gate to the
ground is confusing.
We once carried the wheelchair with
dad and me to the ground.

•You always look for ‘elevator’sign.

We visited below.

Meiji Shrine

The shrine which is dedicated for emperor Meiji and empress of 19th century.

In 1920, 100,000 trees were donated from all over Japan, and botanical experts planned 200 years designing the shrine to become a natural forest.

Currently, the trees are about 20 meters tall, like a pristine forest, but by 2120, when the project is completed, the trees will be 30 meters tall and deep.

We saw traditional Japanese wedding procession this day!

Lunch

We had lunch at the ramen restaurant nearby!

It’s a nice local food experience!

Asakusa

Sensoji Temple, founded in 628,
the oldest temple in Tokyo.

The large red lantern is a landmark of Tokyo.

Nakamise shopping street is a traditional shopping street.

You can buy all Japanese souvenirs here!

Zojoji temple

We went to Zojoji Temple.

It is a temple of the Jodo sect, founded in 1393.

It is located next to Tokyo Tower, so we took a picture of the two together.

Jizo status

In Zojoji there are many Jizo status with beautiful bibs and hats.

These are dedicated to the passed away babies and miscarriages.

We understand the parents sad feelings watching small toys in front of them.

Tokyo Tower

333m tall tower which built 1958.

It was a telecommunication tower before, replaced Tokyo Skytree now.

You can see the whole view of Tokyo and Mt.Fuji from here.

The red and white colors are still a symbol of Tokyo!

We only once carried the wheelchair from the subway gate of Akabanebashi to the ground.

How was it?

I think you can try wheelchair travel in Tokyo!

I’m Nobu, one heart enjoy together!!!
