There are beautiful old black Pine Bonsais. Do you know how to care them? I show it to you.
I’m Nobu, I like traveling overseas and in Japan, visited 25 countries. I’ve got the license of the certificate English guide in Japan for 7 years.I show you hidden Japan which you have never seen and heard of!
Place
It prefers full sun, but will grow in semi-shade or shade, depending on the environment.
Place it in a well-ventilated area. It should be kept outside. In winter, it is best to keep it in the sun without wind or frost. Keep indoors for a week in winter and 2-3 days in other seasons.
Watering
They like to dry out, so give them plenty of water when the topsoil is dry. Fertilize once a day in spring and autumn, once every three days in winter, and twice in midsummer.
Fertilizer
Apply an organic solid fertilizer once a month from April to September, except during the rainy season and mid-summer.
Insecticide
Insecticide should be sprayed 3-4 times from spring to autumn to prevent aphids and pine wilt.
Pruning
Trim spindly buds from the base and trim back 3-4 leaves where buds have not been trimmed.
Wiring
Wiring should be done in the dormant season. But if the trunk is thick or you want to bend the trunk, start in February. The wire should be left in place for six months to a year for bending.
Nipping buds
In April, just before the leaves begin to grow, cut only the strongest buds in half. Leave the weak shoots.
Cutting buds
In July, cut off the shoots in order from weakest to strongest, leaving only the previous year’s leaves.
And then cut off the strongest shoots at different times (1-2 weeks apart), so that the second shoots will be uniform in size by autumn.
Trimming leaves
In December, pull out the old leaves like a rake. In November, the plant will naturally shed its old leaves, so it is best to pull out the remaining leaves with tweezers.
Replant
The best time to replant is from early April to early May, when the new shoots are growing.
I recommend you enjoy old Bonsais in Japan to remind the life lasts forever!
I’m Nobu, one heart enjoy together!!!
