Shiraito ( white strings)waterfall
I went to Shiraito Falls on Mt.Fuji.
There are two Shiraito waterfalls , one on the Yamanashi Prefecture side and the other on the Shizuoka Prefecture side.
This one is on the Shizuoka Prefecture side and is one of the UNESCO World Heritage Sites on Mt.Fuji.
There is no river upstream, and the water gushes out from between the rocks.
It’s spectacular!
Why water gushes out from rocks
Water is gushing from the precipitous cliffs at the boundary between the Shin-Fuji Volcanic Formation, and the Old-Fuji Volcanic Formation.
Hundreds of waterfalls of various sizes cascade down the 20m high, 150m wide curved cliff.
The appearance of the waterfalls is worthy of the name “Shiraito,” meaning “white strings .”
Then they seem to be draped with many strands of silk strings .
When you get close to the waterfalls, you can hear the roar of the spring water as it spurts out, which is a very powerful sight.
When I was there, I was lucky enough to see a rainbow over the waterfall basin!
Most tourists who come to Mt. Fuji only visit the Yamanashi Prefecture side of the mountain.
Such as Lake Kawaguchi, but there are many good places to visit on the Shizuoka Prefecture side as well, so please give it a try.
I’m Nobu, one heart enjoy together!!!
