‘SOBA NOODLE in New Year’s Eve’
We eat SOBA noodle in New Year’s Eve. It’s a common event for us from feudal age.
It’s said that SOBA noodle is easy to cut off than other noodles like ramen and udon , we hope cut off this year and start new year from 1st January. Yes we need to cut off bad influence of COVID-19!
Also noodle is long , representing the hope for longevity of everybody.
Me and my family went to JINDAIJI temple area near my house, there are over 20 SOBA restaurants competing each other !
We ate at YUSUI ( 湧水 literally means pure spring ) restaurant which had the longest queue . We waited 30 minutes but the SOBA is really nice 90%SOBA , 10% TSUNAGI( ingredients) .
