Itokawa cherry blossom festival
I went to the Itogawa Cherry Blossom Festival in Atami.
There are rows of cherry blossom trees along Itokawa river in Atami.
The festival runs from January 7 to February 5, and is the earliest cherry blossom festivals in Japan.
Atami zakura
The cherry trees here are called “Atami Cherry Blossoms” and bloom from January to February.
It’s about a month earlier than the Kawazu Cherry Blossoms, which are famous for their early blooming, from February to March.
The Itogawa Cherry Blossom Festival is the earliest cherry blossom festival in Japan.
Because Okinawa cherry blossom festival starts on January 21 which is also known as a very early event.
I enjoyed street performances and stalls.
This festival is recommended for those who want to experience the atmosphere of spring as soon as possible from January!
