Izumo-taisha Shrine
I visited Izumo-taisha Shrine in Shimane Prefecture.
This is one of the oldest and an important shrine connected to the founding period of Japan along with Ise Jingu Shrine in Mie Prefecture.
History
The Izumo-taisha Shrine was founded at least several thousand years ago.
There is a record of the repair of Izumo-taisha Shrine in 659.
God of Match making
It is said to be the god of marriage and attracts many visitors.
How to worship
Unlike other shrines, the way of worship is 2 bows 4 claps, 2 bows.
It’s different from ordinary shrines 2 bows, 2 claps, 2 bows.
Shimenawa (sacred rope)
The giant shimenawa (sacred rope) in the Kaguraden is the symbol of the shrine.
It is 13.6 meters long and weighs 5.2 tons!
The sacred rope in the hall of worship is 6.5 m long and weighs 1 ton.
They replace them every 4-8 years.
Inasanohama Beach
The legend is said that the gods of heaven and earth once held negotiations here and protected the nation by building Izumo-taisha Shrine without war.
The exact location is said the “Byobu-Iwa” (folding screen rock), which rises at the far end of the beach.
This place was the setting for this event.
How mysterious it is?
Why don’t you come next time?
I’m Nobu , one heart enjoy together!!
