Climate
It’s very hot and humid, with average temperatures ranging from 25-30℃(77 to 86°F).
The rainy season ends the first or second week of July, and hot, humid days follow.
Clothing
Light summer clothes (T-shirts, shorts, sandals) are recommended.
I recommend you bring sun protection items such as hats, sunglasses, and UV-blocking items.
Flower Viewing Spots
Ueno park
At Shinobazu pond, a lot of lotus flowers bloom from middle of July!
Go there early in the morning!Don’t miss it out!!
Hokkaido Furano lavenders
The lavender fields in Furano, Hokkaido, are famous.
Events
Gion festival(Kyoto)
A large-scale festival held throughout almost all of July.
The highlight is 17th and 24th July big floats parade by 34 floats around Kyoto city.
1 million people gather here to enjoy traditional summer of Japan!
Tenjin Matsuri (Osaka)
One of Japan’s three major festivals, held on July 24th and 25th.
It’s held in Nakanoshima river side.
Fireworks Festivals
The fireworks festival is one of the most popular events all over Japan in summer nights.
Tokyo
Sumida River Fireworks Festival One of Japan’s largest fireworks festivals, held on the last Saturday of July.
27th July 2024.
Asakusa station.
They launch 20000 fireworks.
Adachi fireworks festival
It’s held in Arakawa river side.
20th July 2024.
Kitasenju station.
They launch 13000 fireworks.
Niigata
Nagaoka Fireworks Festival
A big fireworks festival in Niigata prefecture.
2,3rd August 2024.
They launch 20000 fireworks.
