Lover’s cape
I went to Lover’s Cape in Toi town, Izu City.
A long time ago, a young fisherman and a young girl from different villages fell in love, but they could not see each other because their villages were far apart.
The girl prayed at a shrine to meet her man, and out of nowhere she was given two bells.
The girl gave one bell to the man, and when she rang the bell three times from the cape, the man rang it three times from his fishing boat to confirm their love.
The story goes that the two were finally married.
From this story people call here as a lover’s cape.
On a fine day, you can see the Pacific Ocean and Mt. Fuji up close.
Moreover in late February you can see early cherry blossoms too.
Make sure to ring the bell without forgetting to do so like ancient 2 lovers.
The couples who are able to get married here dedicate a red ema (wish tablet).
You can enjoy natural beauty, human love story both!
I’m Nobu , one heart enjoy together!!!
