Nara Park
Nara Park is a vast park measuring 4 km east to west and 2 km north to south, with many national treasures, world heritage sites, and museums.
The approximately 1,400 deer that live in the park have long been cherished as messengers of the gods and are the symbol of Nara.
Todaiji Nandaimon( South Gate)
This is the biggest temple gate in Japan of 25m tall.
There are 2 guardian gods 8m tall which are curved by famous sculptor UNKEI.
Todaiji Temple
Todaiji Temple was founded in 733 as a temple of the Kegon sect of Buddhism.
It is a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
With a height of 46.8 meters, it is the largest wooden structure in the world.
The Daibutsu (Great Buddha) inside is the world’s largest cast bronze statue at 15 meters.
Lucky hole
There is a 37cm, 30cm hole in the pillar of the temple.
If you can go through the hole you can get luck !
Kasuga Taisha Shrine
Founded in 768, it is a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
The deer in Nara Park is a servant of this shrine.
It’s said they are from Kashima shrine from east side of Japan .
God of Kashima shrine brought them here in Nara .
Nakatanido
This is a Mochi dumpling shop( pounded rice).
You can see mochi pounding in front of the shop if you’re lucky!
Vegetarian lunch
We went to the vegetarian lunch .
Yummy!
Ikimono museum
You can see small reptiles, insects and fish creatures!
You can touch some of them here!
