Matsuda Sakura ( cherry blossom)festival
I went to the cherry blossom festival in Matsuda-cho, Kanagawa Prefecture,1 hour 20 minutes from Tokyo.
This festival is from 3rd February to 3rd March.
The cherry trees are already almost in full bloom on February 15 and will be in full bloom throughout February.
Location
The station is Odakyu Line’s Shin-Matsuda Station and the JR Matsuda Station.
And it takes about 20-25 minutes to walk from the station to the park entrance.
And they operate shuttle bus from JR Matsuda station , temporary car parking( 500 yen) and to the hill of the park.
It’s 300 yen, every 30 minutes from 17th February to 3rd March.( until then every 1 hour)
Entrance fee
The park is Nishihirabatake park, the entrance fee is 300 yen ( 2 USD).
The park has 360 pink Kawazu cherry trees, many yellow rape blossoms, and a blue sky.
We can see Mt.Fuji if the weather is good.
And the Pacific Ocean can be seen when looking south.
There is an observation restaurant and cafe .
Also we can see Hinamatsuri ( couple dolls festival) display in the park.
Access from Tokyo
To get there from Tokyo, take the Odakyu Line express train from Shinjuku, which takes 1 hour and 20 minutes.
The fare is 800 yen.
Early blooming cherry blossoms
Since most Someiyoshino cherry trees do not bloom until the end of March, it is nice to be able to see them in full bloom in February！
