Cat paradise Japan, Ojima island in Okinawa
I’m Nobu, I like traveling overseas and in Japan, visited 25 countries. I’ve got the license of the certificate English guide in Japan for 8 years.
I show you hidden Japan which you have never seen and heard of!
Cat Paradise Japan
If you are interested in Japan, you probably know that there are places called cat cafes in Japan.
It is a café where cute cats sleep or walk around slowly in the café.
You can relax and spend time with the cats, feeding them and letting them sit on your lap.
In fact, there are many other places where you can meet cats living comfortably in their natural habitat.
Many of them are actively posted by foreign YouTubers.
Ojima island in Okinawa
Today I’d like to introduce you to a remote island called Oujima in Okinawa Prefecture.
It’s a remote island in the south of the prefecture , about a 40-minute drive from Naha Airport.
The island is connected by a bridge, so it is easy to get to.
Sacred places
This island has sacred places of worship all over the island, and the beliefs from the old days remain strong.
As you drive around the island, you will see cats everywhere in the village, lazing in the sun or walking slowly.
The first time I saw them up close was when I went to the most important place of worship on the island.
When I was in front of the shrine, a brown-haired cat not only came up to me, but also attached itself to me.
Friendly cat at the holly place
It snuggled up to me like, “Welcome, you’ve come a long way”.
There was a lot to see in this shrine, so as I walked around the shrine, he followed me and snuggled up to me as if he was showing me the way.
Generally cats in Japan don’t tend to be afraid of people even when they come close to them because they have never been misbehaved by Japanese people.
This cat, too.
The cat happy to see me, even though I had just met and stroked its head.
Or rather, the cat seemed to want me to pet it.
When I left, it sat at the entrance and sent me off as if to say, “See you and come again!”
If you like cats , why don’t you meet them in Japan?
I’m Nobu, one heart enjoy together!!!
