I came across the Shohin Bonsai at Tokyo metropolitan art museum bonsai exhibition.
A shohin bonsai is a palm-sized bonsai up to 20 cm in height.

It is a reduced-scale representation of the grandeur of nature’s trees and scenes in a small pot.
History

In the Heian period (794-1185),female author Sei Shonagon wrote in “The Pillow Book”.

It’s like “everything and anything small is lovely”.
This is another example of the traditional Japanese art of bonsai.
This is to express a large tree or a landscape of nature in a reduced size in a small pot.

Shohin bonsai was developed after the Edo and Meiji periods 17th -19th century.
But the origin of the miniaturization of bonsai lies in the unique Japanese aesthetic.
Why don’t you enjoy Shohin Bonsai in Japan?
I’m Nobu, one heart enjoy together!!!
