Sanja Matsuri festival
The Sanja Matsuri is one of the most popular festivals in Japan.
Sanja literally means ‘3 guys’ who founded Sensoji temple.
2 million people gather here on 3 days,Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, starting on the third Friday in May.
27 portable shrines are walking around Asakusa area to celebrate it!
It is said to be the most lively festival of the year in Asakusa.
A downtown area that still retains the atmosphere of Edo (old Tokyo), and is one of the most representative festivals of early summer in Tokyo.
