Nezu Shrine
I went to the azalea Festival at Nezu Shrine.
Nezu Shrine is said to have been founded by Yamatotakeru around AD 100, 1900 years ago.
The azalea festival is being held in the precincts of the shrine now 2nd April until 1st May.

There are about 3,000 azalea plants here, and they start blooming around mid-April.
Currently, the azaleas are in their 80% of blooming on 16th April 2022.
The slope on the west side of the temple grounds is covered with numerous azaleas and is very beautiful!
Colors of azalea
Their vivid colors are in sharp contrast to the light pink cherry blossom.
You can tell that the season is moving on.
Nezu Shrine is a 5-minute walk from Nezu Metro Station in the center of Tokyo.
It takes 15 minutes from Tokyo Station to Nezu Station.
Why don’t you enjoy the beautiful Japanese azalea season following the cherry blossom season?
