Minatono-mieruoka park(Harbor view hill park)
I went to Harbor view hill park in Yokohama.
It is located on a hill overlooking the port of Yokohama city.
We can see the Yokohama Bay Bridge, 18-meter standing statue of Gundam from an anime, and the Port of Yokohama in the distance.
History
The Port of Yokohama became one of the major ports of Japan in 1868.
This was when Japan opened the country to the outside world after 265 years isolation policy .
British and French troops were stationed here that period.
There is a building that used to be the official residence of the British Consul General.
Also there is a remain of the French Consulate too.
These are giving a sense of the history of the area since that time.
In 1962, it was developed into a park and opened to the public.
On weekends, the park is a popular destination for families and couples.
Rose garden
Also the rose garden with 2,200 roses is beautiful and usually attracts many visitors in May.
The wonderful smell of the roses is soothing.
It’s 5 minutes walk from Chukagai station of Yokohama city line.
It takes 50 minutes from Tokyo.
Would you like to enjoy May in Japan at Minatono-mieruoka park, the harbor view hill park in Yokohama next to Tokyo?
I’m Nobu, one heart enjoy together!!!
