‘DAIBOSATSU( Great Bodhisattva )pass’
I hiked up DAIBOSATSU ( Great Bodhisattva) pass in YAMANASHI prefecture next to Tokyo.
The highest point is 2057m , and you can see the beautiful whole Mt.Fuji view from the ridge .
The name DAIBOSATSU ( Great Bodhisattva )is a Buddhism name .
Most of the Japanese mountains are the object of worship in the past , monks climbed up the mountains as a training for the enlightenment.
On 19th century people started climbing mountains as a leisure by the influence of western alpinism .
But still most of the mountains names are related to Buddhism and Shintoism.
