‘RIVERS in Kyoto’
There are 2 rivers in Kyoto.
One is the KAMO river which flows east part of Kyoto from north to south.
If you go to GION district and KIYOMIZU temple area by train , this is the river you come across.
The KAMO river flows slowly, the both sides are walk and cycling ways.
Many people enjoy strolling and sit down, chatting at the river side .
On the summer time the temporary river side open air restaurants are operated along the KAMO river.
On the upstream the KAMO river gets narrow and we can cross by stepping stones .
The KATSURA river flows west part of Kyoto through ARASHIYAMA, the KATSURA river changes the name as HOZU river upstream of ARASHIYAMA.
The HOZU river is popular for its river cruise by sightseeing boat and adventurous river rafting.
If you come to Kyoto, check the rivers and enjoy them!
