Chirashi-zushi in kyoto
I had chirashi-zushi in Kyoto, Japan.
Chirashi-zushi (ちらし寿司) is a type of sushi made by combining sushi rice with many different ingredients.
The word literally means “to scatter” various ingredients in or on top of sushi rice, and is sometimes simply called “chirashi.”
In general, chirashi-zushi is made by mixing seasoned ingredients into the sushi rice and decorating it with a kinshi tamago (egg) or nori (seaweed).
Chirashi-zushi is sometimes described as “chirashi-zushi” when there is nothing mixed in the vinegared rice.
And call “gomoku-zushi” when the vinegared rice is mixed with various ingredients but the terminology varies by region and generation, and there is no official definition.
It is said to have originated in the Kamakura period (1185-1333).
Nigiri-zushi is delicious, but we also recommend eating colorful chirashi-zushi when you come to Japan.
You will enjoy different food in Japan!
